Part-Time UX / Web Designer @ Pool Day

Published: February 12, 2026

Job description

Pool Day (poolday.com) is a D2C brand in the pool + spa care space. We’re looking for a part-time UX designer to help improve our website end-to-end (landing pages + PDPs), with a heavy focus on clarity, trust, and conversion. Our customer base skews older than most D2C brands (homeowners with pools/spas, often 40+), so clean UX and straightforward communication matters.

What you’ll do
- Design + iterate on high-impact ecommerce modules (starting with our “order section” / buy box + purchase flow)
- Design supporting landing page panels that surround the order section (education, trust, product selection guidance)
- Improve PDP structure, information hierarchy, and mobile-first layouts
- Create wireframes → polished UI in Figma, with clear developer handoff (responsive specs, components, annotations)
- Collaborate with our growth + dev team to iterate quickly based on feedback and performance learnings

How we work
- We’ll provide a clear brief (goal, constraints, examples, what success looks like)
- You’ll design in Figma with 1–2 iteration loops
- You’ll hand off clean specs to our developer for implementation

Time / structure
- Part-time, remote, ongoing (no fixed end date if it’s a good fit)
- Hourly rate

Experience Requirements

- 5+ years designing for ecommerce websites (landing pages + PDPs); strong mobile-first UX
- Strong Figma skills (components, responsive layouts, clean file organization)
- Experience designing conversion-focused purchase flows (buy box / add-to-cart / subscription vs one-time)
- Ability to design for an older, mainstream demographic (clarity, readability, trust signals, reduced cognitive load)
- Strong visual design taste + UX fundamentals (hierarchy, spacing, accessibility basics)
- Comfortable collaborating with developers and delivering implementation-ready specs

Nice to have
- Shopify experience (themes, constraints, app ecosystems)
- Subscription UX experience (e.g., Recharge or similar)
- CRO / experimentation familiarity (iterating based on learnings, not just aesthetics)
