E-Commerce Product Researcher for Sensory Wellness Market (3-Day Sprint) @ EmbraceEcommerce
Published: December 2, 2025
Job description
We're entering a fast-growing wellness and lifestyle products market with ZERO premium competition. The space is completely fragmented, dominated by commodity players, and ripe for a design-forward brand.
We need someone who can identify the best product opportunities — backed by real data, not hunches.
The Mission (Due Friday, Dec 6):
Conduct deep product research across an emerging wellness category that spans multiple demographics and use cases. We're looking at tactile products, wellness tools, and everyday items that serve stress relief, focus, and therapeutic needs.
Your job: Find 15-20 specific products or sub-segments where we can enter with real differentiation. Tell us what exists, where the gaps are, and how we can be better.
What We Need by Friday EOD:
🔍 Product Opportunity Deep Dive (PRIMARY FOCUS)
For each product opportunity, we need:
Demand validation — Amazon search volume, keyword trends, actual data
Competitive landscape — Who's selling it? At what price? What do reviews say?
Gap analysis — Where do existing products suck? (design, quality, price tier, features)
Differentiation strategy — Even if it exists, how can OURS be different/better?
Design opportunities (premium vs. cheap aesthetic)
Pricing tier gaps (all budget? missing premium tier?)
Feature improvements (what breaks? what's missing? what do people wish for?)
Material upgrades (sustainable, eco-friendly, medical-grade)
📊 Sub-Segment Discovery
Underserved niches (age groups, use cases, settings)
Trending products with low competition
Cross-demographic opportunities
🎯 Prioritization & Recommendations
Top 5-8 products to pursue (with clear "why")
Ranked by: demand + competition + differentiation potential + margin
High-level action plan for validation/testing
Deliverables:
✅ Product Opportunity Report (25-35 pages)
15-20 products with full data-backed analysis
Differentiation opportunities for each
✅ Prioritization Matrix (Spreadsheet)
All products ranked and scored
✅ Action Plan Brief
Top recommendations + next steps
Experience Requirements
✅ You're obsessed with finding market gaps and white space
✅ You can work at startup speed (3-day turnaround, high quality)
✅ You're fluent in Amazon research tools (Helium 10, Jungle Scout, etc.)
✅ You read customer reviews like detective novels (finding pain points)
✅ You can articulate "why THIS product, differentiated THIS way" with data
✅ You've done product research that led to actual launches
Bonus Points:
Experience in wellness, lifestyle, or therapeutic product spaces
You understand premium positioning vs. commodity competition
You've worked with early-stage DTC brands before
